INTERVENTIONS UP
For the third year
straight, the intervention rate has increased during the forth
quarter. The holiday season and the new year seem to provide the
impetus for the family to take action on a problem that has been
around far too long. The first quarter is the second highest quarter
for new interventions.

Message on the PBS
Bill Moyers' TV special on addiction was loud and clear:
Intervention - both family and corporate - is a critical function of
treatment and recovery. Current scientific data and a "Chaucerian
procession" of ordinary Americans recounting often harrowing
experiences with alcohol and drugs drove the message on home: More
treatment opportunities are needed if we are to impact the
problem.
